We are still looking for alumni to feature on the walls of our new wing at AJHS. So far, we have around 20 former students who will be featured and they are so inspiring!
If you graduated from D102 and currently work in or have worked in the STEM field, we would love to hear from you! We plan to display photos of graduates who followed careers in STEM as inspiration to current students. If you are interested, please send an email to news@d102.org. If you know any D102 graduates who might be a good fit for this project, please help us spread the word! #d102brightfuture

Incoming 7th grader Nayovi represented AJHS in the International Academic Competitions for Science BEE and made it to the quarterfinals this summer. Congratulations on this awesome accomplishment! #D102BrightFuture

We can't believe it's already the last day of July, but we are so excited to start a new school year in a few weeks!
The first district newsletter of the 24-25 school year will be sent out on Tuesday, August 6. It will contain important information regarding the beginning of the year.
If you don't already receive our newsletter, you can join our mailing list by clicking this link: https://lp.constantcontactpages.com/su/MuvDLA1

A team of middle school students from Buffalo Grove, including 2 students from AJHS (Ethan S. and Prajin S.), were among the top five teams in the "You Be the Chemist Challenge" and earned a trip to Houston. There, they competed in person and ultimately finished third overall!
These young Chemistry students are members of the Science Scholars Sandbox, started and coached by Sachleen Tuteja of Palatine who will be a sophomore at Northwestern University this fall. Her passion for Chemistry ignited the fire in these young minds and they took it to the national level where they demonstrated their dedication and poise well beyond their years!

District 102 alum Paul Juda qualifies for the 2024 Paris Olympics!
Paul secured his spot on Team USA after placing fourth with 168.85 points at the U.S. Olympic Gymnastics Trials on Saturday, June 29.
"I only had one goal, and it was to hit all my routines and leave here healthy," Juda told NBC following his final event.
We're so excited to cheer Paul on while he's in Paris.

Happy 8th grade graduation day! The ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m. and will be live-streamed on our Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/district102/

Thank you Gina Soto for all your hard work in preparing Tripp 3rd graders for the concert! It was an amazing show and we are so grateful to have music as part of our students' lives!

Congratulations to both the girls and boys teams on winning the conference tournament last week! After winning these titles, the Aptakisic track & field team competed in the IESA sectional meet at Wheeling High School on Saturday.
Many athletes earned personal records, and the boys took second place overall as a team.
Congratulations to Mkhai and Mlakhai Agee, who both hit state qualifying time in the 100m and 200m. Mkhai and Mlakhai will head to Peoria to compete in the IESA State Championships, this weekend. Congratulations, and good luck, boys!

Here's a reminder of our calendar changes this week.
