As we conclude Principal Appreciation Month, we want to thank our principals for their leadership in our district! We see their work in action in so many ways, supporting students, serving as instructional leaders, and managing our schools every day. We are grateful for their dedication to our students, staff, and families and the important role they play in the success of our school community.

Our early childhood learners are experts in play! Play is the foundation of learning, creativity, self-expression, and constructive problem-solving.

The EC parking lot will be turned into a halloween festival with decorated cars and costumes!
Come with your whole family to grab some treats, eat dinner, and mingle with fellow monsters (friends).
Staff members and EC families will have decorated cars with treats to share. You can place a dinner order for Rosati's Pizza using the link on the flyer below.
Please RSVP by this Friday to indicate if you would like to participate by decorating your car, or if you will just be attending (no-car). No matter your choice, we hope to see you there and in costume!

Early Childhood students explored Half Day Forest Preserve for their fall family event. Our littlest learners participated in a scavenger hunt, explored with their 5 senses, and connected with their family and peers.

Pritchett's Project Boo was a huge success! Third grade student council reps helped sort donated halloween candy and halloween costumes for Fill a Heart 4 Kids. Thank you to all who made a donation!

Last week's Tripp's Family Book Club was a success! Mrs. Goldstein read the story, "A Garden in my Hands" and families learned about the custom of applying henna and were decorated with it, too.

Fourth-grade students in Mr. Seegert's class conducted an erosion experiment. The activity tied to their unit of study on landforms, which studied the makeup of soil, physical and chemical weathering, and landforms.
Today, students took on roles such as recorder, timekeeper, and encourager to help support the activity. Mr. Seegert created various scenarios with different levels of sediment and water to simulate the effects of a flood. In the end, students understood that land made of stronger root systems will best hold up to floods.

The 8th-grade band performed at halftime at the Stevenson varsity football game on September 27. They memorized the Stevenson Fight Song and marched around the AJHS parking lot in preparation for the game. Thanks to the band directors, Ms. Rakickas and Ms. Strauss, for organizing the trip.
