๐We are thrilled to announce a new quarterly recognition program celebrating students from grades K-8 who exemplify the qualities outlined in our Portrait of a Graduate! ๐
Each quarter, principals and teachers from every school will select five outstanding students who demonstrate these key competencies. At last weekโs school board meeting, Board President Jordan Sklansky had the privilege of presenting certificates to our first group of honorees! ๐
Congratulations to these amazing students for their hard work and dedication! We can't wait to recognize even more inspiring students in the quarters to come. ๐

๐ Happy #WorldKindnessDay! Today, our students and staff came together across the district to celebrate kindness by wearing their brightest yellow! ๐ Each letter in YELLOW represents a key part of what kindness is all about:
โจ Y is for Youโkindness starts with each of us. โจ E is for Engageโconnecting with others with an open heart. โจ L is for Listenโtaking time to truly hear one another. โจ L is for Learnโabout one other. โจ O is for Offerโlending a hand whenever we can. โจ W is for Weโbecause kindness is something we build together.
By wearing yellow, weโre raising awareness that kindness can brighten our community. ๐ผ Be nice. Be kind. Be yellow. ๐ #BeYellow #KindnessDay #ChooseKindness

District 102 had another successful Safety Night!
Parents attended a Stop the Bleed training and attended sessions on topics such as suicide prevention, building healthy home routines, child CPR, and more. Officer Diaz presented about safety at home and school. Families who attended were entered into a free raffle to win *huge* gift baskets containing family games, books, and craft activities!

As we conclude Principal Appreciation Month, we want to thank our principals for their leadership in our district! We see their work in action in so many ways, supporting students, serving as instructional leaders, and managing our schools every day. We are grateful for their dedication to our students, staff, and families and the important role they play in the success of our school community.
