Dear Pritchett Families,
Welcome back! I hope this message finds you feeling refreshed, recharged, and ready to dive into the exciting “home stretch” of our school year. Whether you traveled, spent quality time with loved ones, or enjoyed some well-deserved relaxation, I hope spring break brought you moments of joy and renewal.
Thank you for joining us for our student-led conferences. It was wonderful to see our students take center stage, confidently sharing their growth, achievements, and goals with you. Watching them take ownership of their learning was a powerful reminder of the bright futures ahead for each of our Panthers.
As we head into April, our school focus is on two key "Portrait of a Graduate" traits: being Good Decision Makers and Solution Seekers. We are teaching our Panthers that being a good decision maker means thinking before acting to make a positive choice, while being a solution seeker means staying calm and trying new ideas when faced with a challenge. When teachers catch these traits in action, students will be recognized over the morning announcements and receive a special yellow Panther Pride wristband. We encourage you to talk with your child this month about the smart choices they are making and the creative ways they are solving problems at school!
To help your child practice being a Good Decision Maker and a Solution Seeker, try asking these questions at the dinner table or on the drive home:
For Decision Making: "What was a choice you had to make today? How did you decide what the right thing to do was?"
For Solution Seeking: "Did anything get a little tricky today? Instead of getting frustrated, what was one way you tried to fix the problem?"
For Reflection: "If you could redo one choice you made today, would you change it or keep it the same? Why?"
For Goal Setting: "What is one goal you have for tomorrow? How can you make a plan to reach it?"
Let’s make the most of the time we have left in this school year!
Take care and be well,
Dr. Moreland -- Principal
