๐Ÿค Service in Action: Pritchett Gives Back!
What an evening of Service! On February 6, the Pritchett community gathered for their annual Pritchett Gives Back event, and the energy was nothing short of inspiring. โค๏ธ

Students rolled up their sleeves for a variety of hands-on projects, proving that youโ€™re never too young to make a big difference. Students made a direct impact by collecting essentials and creating gifts of support. Together, the group made a #D102Impact on these local organizations:

๐Ÿพ Orphans of the Storm
๐Ÿ’™ Fill-a-Heart 4 Kids
๐ŸŒˆ C.I.T.Y. of Support
๐Ÿ›’ Vernon Township Food Pantry

Thank you to students, families, and staff for making this a successful night. D102 appreciates your time and service! ๐Ÿพโœจ

Your input is vital! Please take the 5Essentials parent survey to help D102 improve! The survey is open until March 28.

Each year, D102 participates in the 5Essentials Survey, a valuable tool developed by the University of Chicago Consortium on School Research. This survey helps us assess our school climate and culture by collecting feedback from students, teachers, and parents. We strongly encourage families to take a few minutes to complete this online parent survey. The results of the parent portion of this survey are only able to be utilized if we have enough participation. Please take the survey here: https://survey.5-essentials.org/illinois/

๐Ÿ”ฌ Future Scientists in the Making! ๐ŸŒŸ
Science came to life at Pritchett! Kindergartners had the incredible opportunity to explore the wonders of physics during a special visit from a very special guest: Dr. Carolyn Tomchik. ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ”ฌโœจ

๐Ÿงช๐Ÿ’จAs a Principal Nuclear Engineer at Argonne National Laboratory (and a proud Pritchett kindergarten mom!), Dr. Tomchik led our young researchers through hands-on experiments to investigate complex concepts like friction, inertia, and Bernoulliโ€™s principle.

Our students participated by making predictions and tested their ideas through interactive demonstrations. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, Dr. Tomchik!

Unearthing history at Pritchett! ๐Ÿฆด๐Ÿ”

The Pritchett library was buzzing with excitement as our Panther families dove into the life of Mary Anning at our latest Family Book Club! ๐Ÿ“šโœจ

After reading "Dragon Bones": The Fantastic Fossil Discoveries of Mary Anning, our students stepped into the shoes of paleontologists. From hands-on fossil digs and creative art projects to sketching real fossil casts on loan from the Raupp Museum, it was an evening filled with curiosity and connection with families. ๐ŸŽจ๐Ÿฆ–

Big cheers for our incredible students! ๐Ÿฅณโœจ

At the Board of Education meeting on January 26, 25 amazing students from across D102 were celebrated! These rockstars were chosen by their principals and teachers because they were seen living out our district's Portrait of a Graduate traits.

In case you missed it, our D102 goals are all about raising:
Skilled Communicator and Collaborator ๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ
Effective Problem Solver and Decision Maker ๐Ÿง
Ethical and Open-minded Global Citizen๐Ÿ’ก
Determined and Empowered Individual ๐Ÿค

It was such a fun night! Families joined in as Board President Sklansky and Superintendent McIntyre handed out special certificates and cool Portrait of a Graduate zipper pulls. Our families enjoyed a surprise visit from our D102 therapy dogs, too. ๐Ÿถ

Congrats to all of our honorees!
