District 102 officially kicked off the new school year, welcoming students from early childhood through eighth grade. The opening week focused heavily on building connections, easing back-to-school jitters, and setting a confident, positive tone for the year ahead.
Schools across the district hosted dedicated Meet and Greet events designed to help students and families get acquainted with their new environments before diving into daily routines. Early childhood and elementary students in grades 1 through 5 explored their classrooms, dropped off their supplies, and met their teachers. Several classes made their "Meet and Greet" time interactive with scavenger hunts and school supply organization.
AJHS students in grades 6 through 8 spent time practicing their locker combinations, organizing their supplies, and touring the school so they could move through the hallways with confidence on day one.
All D102 students have officially completed their first day of school! The hallways were filled with energy as they reconnected with friends and settled into their new routines. Thanks to the thoughtful preparation of staff, teachers, and families!
