✨ Success by Design at AJHS! 🚀
Mrs. Byrne and Mrs. Dengsavang’s ELA students recently completed a research unit exploring how individuals achieve success despite significant challenges. Students analyzed reliable sources and identified key traits such as perseverance and leadership that fueled their subjects' accomplishments.

This study revealed that success results from developed skills rather than luck, thereby enhancing their critical thinking and research abilities. The unit inspired the class by proving that dedication can turn any obstacle into an opportunity. This hands-on project provided students with both academic growth and a roadmap for their own future goals.

🏐 Game on, AJHS! 🏐

April has been absolutely packed with fun, and our recent Staff Volleyball Game was a major highlight! Our Student Council knocked it out of the park by hosting an epic after-school showdown that brought the heat to the gym. 🔥

Nearly 250 students stayed after school to pack the stands and cheer on 30 staff members, including Superintendent McIntyre! It was a high-energy celebration of school spirit and the perfect way to wrap up a fun-filled month.

Beyond the cheers, this event was a huge win for our learners. We are thrilled to announce that we raised $1,600 to fund new resources for the AJHS library! 📚✨

This is what community looks like in action. High-fives to our Student Council for their leadership and to everyone who came out to support! 👏💙

Amy Levin Retirement shout out.
The future is looking bright at AJHS! 🚀✨

AJHS hosted Career Day, an event held every three years for our 6th-8th graders. Over 40 community volunteers stopped by to share their expertise, career journeys, and the education needed to succeed! 🎓💼

Students went behind the scenes with:
👨‍✈️ Pilots & Aerospace Engineers
⚖️ Attorneys
🏥 Medical Professionals
👟 Athletic Trainers
🏢 Business Owners ...and more!

Thanks to our very own D102 Alumni who returned to inspire the next generation, including a rocket scientist who was currently working on the Artemis II mission! 🌕🛰️ They. made a genuine impact on our students (and staff, too!).

Thank you to all our amazing volunteers for investing in our students' futures.

AJHS headed into Spring Break with a CEO mindset! 🚀

Can you believe spring break was one month ago? Before the break, AJHS students wrapped up the quarter with another awesome Entrepreneur Business Fair! Their work was incredible!

After weeks of learning about the business world, where they learned about launching a business, marketing strategies, etc., our students launched their business to their teachers and classmates. Their projects were a mix of creative mock companies and real-world startups.

Many of their displays used interactive "spin-to-win" wheels and live demonstrations to engage their "clients" (classmates and teachers). We are so proud of the creativity shown by these young professionals.🏆

The Catalyst Club Executive Board recently met with local and state legislators to advocate for community health. After months of studying substance-use prevention, these students proposed stronger ID verification policies, like mandatory scanners, to help prevent underage tobacco and alcohol purchases. 🎙️

It was a proud "full circle" moment for the district as State Representative Daniel Didech (a D102 alum) worked alongside four Stevenson High School Catalyst members, all D102 alumni! 🤝✨

🎶 Sweet 16: Mosaic Variety Show Shines! ✨

The 2026 Mosaic Variety Show hit its "Sweet 16" milestone at AJHS! 🎂 With over 60 student performers and emcees, the show featured two high-energy showcases that perfectly captured the AJHS and D102 community spirit. 🎭🙌

The talent was on full display with incredible vocals, cultural dances, a faculty rock band 🎸, and a hilarious "Lost and Found" fashion show! 👗🕶️

Most importantly, this evening of art and expression served a greater purpose: the benefit raised over $300 for the Cancer Wellness Center! ❤️🩹

The Challenge:
✅ Design a bot under 12" x 12"
✅ Program a full 360° spin
✅ Outmaneuver opponents in the ring

From initial blueprints to final repairs, these students proved they have what it takes to be "Innovative Thinkers." Great work to all our competitors! 🏆

Talk about a high-stakes leap! 📉 Our 7th-grade Bridge to Algebra 1 students put their statistics skills to the ultimate test with the Barbie Bungee project.

To give Barbie a thrill without hitting the floor, students acted as precision engineers by collecting data and creating scatter plots. They used their lines of best fit to calculate the exact number of rubber bands needed for a successful drop from the stairwell. 🎢📏✨
