Our Tripp art students have been busy exploring the magic of color theory through these vibrant watercolor trees! They started with bold black ink for the trunks to create a sharp contrast before diving into their paints. ποΈ
It was great to see them experiment with primary and secondary colors to decide on a "warm" or "cool" vibe for their landscapes. They learned how a simple change in palette can completely shift the mood of their work! ππ

New Year, New View! π«β¨
We are stepping into 2026 with a lot to be thankful for. Our "Building Our Bright Future" projects at Pritchett, Tripp, and AJHS are providing our students with the safe, modern learning spaces they deserve.
As we enjoy these upgrades throughout 2026, weβre also counting down the months until summer, when construction officially begins at Meridian! π οΈπ

Weβre one step closer to a fully updated district. Happy 2026!

Each and every staff member at D102 makes a #D102Impact every single day. To celebrate that dedication, weβre introducing you to the faces behind our schools.
We are thrilled to start this series with Mrs. Vettraino-Stott, our talented Music and Orchestra teacher at AJHS. Whether sheβs leading a rehearsal or helping a student master a new piece, her commitment to excellence helps our students find their own rhythm. π΅
Get to know Mrs. Vettraino-Stott and stay tuned as we feature more staff from across the district!

πΎWe are so glad to partner with the Homegrown Therapy Dog team. From reading sessions with students to spreading smiles at district events, these incredible pups (and their dedicated owners, including some of our own staff!) bring so much joy to our community.

Mrs. Iacullo's kindergarten class held their very first "Furry Friday" with special guests, Chinu and Mr. Praveen, from the D102 Therapy Dog Program.
Before the visit, students learned how to safely approach and greet a dog. All students got to practice greeting Chinu and Mr. Praveen, and many were able to read a book with Chinu. The visit was a huge success and described as "amazing" by the students! #D102Impact #EveryDayEveryStudent

Last week, our wonderful Kindergarteners at Tripp held their special Foodless Feast! Instead of food, these thoughtful students brought in menus listing all the things they are thankful for. They were absolutely adorable in their hand-made turkey hats, sharing songs, and reading poems! π
Most importantly, families showed incredible generosity by working together to gather donations for our local food pantry. What a heartwarming way to celebrate gratitude and community!

Families connected through rhythmic movement, music, and community spirit! Guided by the wonderful Mrs. Binder (Pritchett) and Mrs. Soto (Tripp), attendees plunged into joyful folk dances from around the world. π They mastered unique steps, sequences, and gained a beautiful appreciation for diverse cultures through this expressive art. π
What an incredible way to learn and connect!

Kindergarten at Pritchett and Tripp starts every morning with valuable structured play! π« Our teachers intentionally teach playground rules π¦, teamwork π€, and expectations for classic games like Tag, Red Light/Green Light, and Duck, Duck, Goose. π¦
They also dedicate time to learning how to use all the playground equipment safely! This intentional approach boosts essential motor skills and helps our youngest learners build cooperation, confidence, and social skills that are key for classroom success! π #EveryDayEveryStudent #D102Impact

Mrs. Cardella's class had a wonderful first visit from our new therapy dogs! π₯° Students learned how to appropriately pet and interact with our calm, furry friends. βπβπ¦Ί
This foundational visit is preparing the kids for an exciting year of reading aloud to the dogs! π Therapy dogs are fantastic for reducing stress and anxiety and boosting focus in the classroom. What a great start! π #EveryDayEveryStudent #D102Impact
