
Today Tripp school welcomed author/illustrator Mike Boldt! He shared his latest book, Cantaloupe and Honeydo Bake a Cake,. He also did several drawings and answered many great questions.
Mike Boldt is the New York Times bestselling artist of acclaimed picture books; Just Try One Bite, How to Grow a Dinosaur, and the popular CHIP THE DOG and FROG series by Dev Petty.

Students listened to Hidden Animal Colors by Jane Park and explored the fascinating world of animal camouflage and mimicry. πΏπ¦
Thank you to the Lake County Forest Preserve for an engaging presentation filled with amazing pictures, real animal specimens, and even a special guestβ¦ a live fox snake! π¦π (Donβt worry, it was friendly!) And of course, a special shoutout to Mrs. Goldstein for hosting another successful evening for families.

We had some paws-itively amazing visitors from Lincolnshire Animal Hospital Therapy Dogs! πΆ These gentle, furry friends spent time with our students, calmly sitting and listening as they read aloud and engaged in heartwarming interactions.
It was a tail-wagging good time that left everyone smiling and feeling a little lighter. π

π The D102 Mentor/Mentee Program wrapped up the first half of the year with a fun cookie-decorating celebration! πͺβ¨ New staff and mentors connected, reflected on their "favorite things" about D102, and celebrated the collaboration that makes our district exceptional. π



Today we welcomed Adam Peterson for a school assembly sponsored by our PTO! He TOLD us a story (that he wrote) and helped our Tripp Tigers write their OWN story! We learned about Be Nice. Be Kind. Be The Yellow. We will continue to work to be the YELLOW in the lives of others.
