🐾We are so glad to partner with the Homegrown Therapy Dog team. From reading sessions with students to spreading smiles at district events, these incredible pups (and their dedicated owners, including some of our own staff!) bring so much joy to our community.

This week, our little bakers-in-training explored the journey of bread! We read "From Wheat to Bread" and "Bread Comes to Life" to learn how tiny seeds turn into our favorite sandwiches. 📖✨
The highlight? Our hands-on lab! The children used a mortar and pestle to grind real wheat kernels into flour. 🥣 It was amazing to watch their faces as they heard the "crunch" and saw the transformation happen right before their eyes! 🧑🍳

They managed to get this fun activity in just before Thanksgiving break and the snow arrived! 🦃❄️ The children navigated obstacle courses 🏃♀️ and collected their own leaves. The best part? They had to rush back to escape the (fake!) skunk! 💨🦨
They finished by adding their beautiful collected leaves to a class tree display. 🌳🖼️ What an engaging way to learn storytelling and follow directions! ✅

Parents kicked off the morning with an insightful session, learning about the vital role different types of play have in fostering cognitive, social-emotional, and physical growth. What a fantastic way to support our little learners! 🌱
Then, the students took over, diving into incredible play stations! They explored with large cardboard boxes, creative loose parts, exciting sensory messy play, and imaginative dramatic play setups. It was a day of open-ended exploration and pure joy! 🎉

This exciting new initiative encourages our Mustangs to be safe, work together as a team, and take care of their school. Throughout the day, students earn tickets for showing these positive behaviors, dropping them into a special box for a weekly drawing.
When a student’s name is drawn, they become the week’s Mighty Mustang, a shining role model for everyone in the class! 🌟
