Governance

Team Structure
Welcome to our learning community! District 102 values shared leadership and organized new governance that includes all stakeholders. District grade level teams, subject area teams and the oversight team called the Teaching and Learning Council work together and develop all academic programs, select the resources, and plan professional development. The attached file displays our comprehensive curriculum cycle and the relative initiatives of those groups for the 2008 - 2009 school year.
Designing Curriculum
Understanding by Design (UbD) is a framework for designing curriculum units, performance assessments, and instruction that leads students to deep understanding of the content.

State Performance Standards
Illinois state standards and descriptions of grade level performance are used by Subject Area Learning Teams (SALT) teams as one source to guide our curriculum development in language arts, math, science, social science, social emotional learning, fine arts, and physical education.
