PES - Third Grade GTE Vocabulary Parade
As part of our push in GTE language arts activities, Pritchett third graders recently enjoyed the book, Miss Alaineus; Vocabulary Disaster. A lovable character, Sage was embarrassed when she had a vocabulary disaster with the word miscellaneous! She learned it was important to understand the meaning of new words!! Our third graders celebrated our growing vocabulary with a THIRD GRADE GTE VOCABULARY PARADE on Wednesday, April 16. The rest of the school enjoyed seeing our third graders led by Mrs. Connor and the third grade teachers as they paraded through each classroom proudly wearing their vocabulary posters. PES - Congratulations to Alyssa and Ethan!
Each year the Lake Region of the Illinois Principal's Association (IPA) invites schools from across the county to participate in their annual Student Recognition Breakfast held at Vernon Hills High School. The Lake Region IPA encourages schools to invite up to two students and their parents from the highest grade of the school to attend the ceremony. The breakfast and ceremony recognizes students for outstanding achievements in school and/or the community.
On behalf of Pritchett School congratulations to fourth grade students Alyssa M. and Ethan Z!

PES - A Strong Finish
It is hard to believe we are in the home stretch of the 2013-2014 school year! Below is a common question I get from parents:
Q: My daughter seems to have a case of spring fever. Any tips for finishing the year on a high note?
PES - Pennies for Patients
Pritchett students have been participating in The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s “Pennies for Patients” fundraising program since 2007. The drive is to benefit those with blood cancer as well as fund research. During a two week period this March, the children, families and staff donated pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters and bills to raise $1,065.59!! This was a tremendous opportunity for Pritchett students to demonstrate their passion for supporting others and practicing District 102’s Universal Values of Integrity in their daily lives. They also learned how important and fulfilling community service can be. Mrs. Nancy Connor and her third and fourth-grade GTE (Gifted Talented Education) students were the coordinators of the program.
Thank you, Pritchett Panthers for your generous donations!
