PES - Pritchett School Celebrates National Peace Week!

Students and staff at Pritchett School are celebrating Peace Week 9/11-9/21! This Pritchett tradition was started four years ago (2011), on the 10th anniversary of 9/11, now known as Patriot Day, and will continue with a week of activities ending with the "Pinwheels for Peace" finale. The goal is to bridge September 11, with an emphasis on patriotism and heroism, with the message of creating peace at school, home and in our world. We want our children to think about the freedom we have as Americans and how we can use our freedom to be the change we wish to see in the world. We want to encourage social action as well as simple acts of kindness. Please spend some time talking to your child about what peace means and how you can share peace in your

PES - Have You Filled a Bucket Today?

On Tuesday, September 9, Ms. Brooks from Bucket Fillers Inc. visited Pritchett for a whole school assembly! This presenter spoke to the best-selling, award-winning, 32-page picture book, Have You Filled a Bucket Today? Ms. Brook’s presentation utilized this particular book as a means to encourage positive behavior. Students saw how very easy and rewarding it was to express kindness, appreciation, and love on a daily basis. Through sweet, simple prose and vivid illustrations, children learned the meaning of the terms bucket filling and bucket dipping, and discovered that when they fill someone's bucket, they fill their own.

For the past eight years, Pritchett School’s Make a Difference Day has focused on helping Little†Angels, a loving home in Elgin for children and young adults with severe disabilities and complex medical needs. Specifically, Pritchett’s Make a Difference Day has involved creating craft projects and raising funds for Little Angels allowing our day of service to be one of “kids helping kids.” Please click here to read more about this special learning project!

PES - Notes From the School's Nurse

Welcome back to a new school year at Pritchett School. I am looking forward to meeting all of the new students!

I am starting my tenth year here at Pritchett. I enjoy watching the students grow from three or four years old, into responsible middle school students.

These years are important to the health and well-being of your children.

Part of my responsibilities are making sure your child is compliant in their physicals, immunizations and eye and dental exams.
