MAP Assessment Information

Dear Parents:

Each year in District 102, second through
eighth grade students are assessed with Northwest Evaluation Association’s Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) in Reading and Mathematics. MAP tests are aligned with the Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts and Mathematics. Illinois has adopted these as the State Learning Standards for both of these subject areas. MAP alignment with these new learning standards is an essential step in monitoring academic growth of the students in college and career readiness. These tests, in conjunction with other assessments, determine your child’s instructional level and academic growth in the areas of Reading and Mathematics throughout the school year, and from year to year.

The second, third and fourth grade spring MAP testing window commences on May 9 and concludes on May 27. We will provide you with results in the final report card.

Fourth-Graders Honored at Principal Breakfast

Each year the Lake Region of the Illinois Principal’s Association (IPA) invites schools from across the county to participate in their annual Student Recognition Breakfast held at Vernon Hills High School. The Lake Region IPA encourages schools to invite up to two students and their parents from the highest grade of the school to attend the ceremony. The breakfast and ceremony recognizes students for outstanding achievements in school and/or the community.

On behalf of Pritchett School congratulations to fourth grade students Eshaan S. and Nandini P!

PES - Pritchett School Pennies for Patients

Pritchett School kicked-off our annual “Pennies for Patients” program sponsored by The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s to benefit those with blood cancer as well as fund research. From April 6 through April 14, your child may donated pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters as well as bills to raise money for this important organization.

This is a tremendous opportunity for Pritchett students to demonstrate their passion for supporting others and practicing District 102’s Universal Values of Integrity in their daily lives. It is also a wonderful opportunity to learn how important and fulfilling community service can be.

Mrs. Nancy Connor and her G.T.E (Gifted and Talented) students are coordinating this program. They will share with us the total amount raised after April 20.

First Grade Concert A Huge Hit

We would like to thank our music teacher, Rosemary Nelson, for the fantastic first-grade music concert held on March 23! The title of the evening's performance, "Sing Around the Word" was simply amazing. Our first-grade students sang songs from around the world from China to Kenya. The event concluded with the children singing a very heartfelt, "Everybody Smiles" by Cristi Cary Miller. It was a memorable experience for all who watched and participated! Thank you, Mrs. Nelson!
