Today Pritchett School kicked-off our annual “Pennies for Patients” program sponsored by The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s to benefit those with blood cancer as well as fund research. From March 11 through March 19, your child may donated pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters as well as bills to raise money for this important organization.This is a tremendous opportunity for Pritchett students to demonstrate their passion for supporting others and practicing District 102’s Universal Values

PES - PTO EVENTS
D102 PTO presents a workshop on "How to keep a healthy perspective, citizenship and sportsmanship in athletics and extra curriculars for all kids" on Thursday, March 6 from 7:00-9:00pm at Aptakisic Junior High. This will be a highly interactive and informative session with Jim Bloch and Bob Pieper of "The Team".
BINGO Night is Friday, March 7th from 6-9 p.m. at Meridian Middle School. We will have games, BINGO prizes, and lots of raffle prizes. This is one of the PTO's biggest fundraising events---you won't want to miss it!
Parents of 1st Graders can take part in the PTO Special Concessions order and purchase a special treat and/or flowers for the concert on March 20th. If you did not receive a flyer, it is on the PTO website at: http://d102.org/pto/wp-content/uploads/2014/02/1st-Grade-Concert.pdf. Orders are due by Friday, March 14th.

PES - Class Building
It is hard to believe, but Pritchett is about to begin the process of building classes for next year. If you are interested in providing some information to me about your child, please download the “Parent Input for Placement 2014” by clicking here, or pick one up from the office. This is the only form that can be submitted, and it is due by Friday, March 21. For those who would like to fill out the form, please send it to the Pritchett School Office marked “For Dr. Moreland.” We will not accept emails or personal letters. Here are a few guidelines to consider when filling out the form:

March is Brain Injury Awareness Month. Below please find a couple of safety tips from the American Academy of Pediatrics:
Guidelines for your child:
* Always wear protective gear.
* Skate under control and leave plenty of room to stop
* Always skate on the right side of paths and sidewalks, and pass on the left.
* Avoid uneven pavement and areas with heavy traffic
* Observe traffic regulations, and yield to pedestrians.

Pritchett Students Present at S.I.T. Conference
Illinois State University hosted the annual SIT Conference (Students Involved in Technology) at Aptakisic Junior High on Saturday, February 22nd. This innovative conference was for students by students. The children were the presenters.
Pritchett School brought 6 groups of student presenters sponsored by Pritchett teachers: Heather Akiyoshi, Nancy Connor, Julie Pingel, Mary Shorey and Tracie Volkmar.

Pritchett School Participates in Jump Rope for Heart!
Today, February 21, students participated in Jump Rope for Heart that benefits the American Heart Association. Students rotated jumping rope in small groups for one and a half hours. Staff and children alike had a great time jumping rope and helping those with sick hearts!
