Photoshop (Grades 5 & 6)
Learn the ins and outs of this powerful image-editing program as you create digital compositions and illustrations.
The Mathematics of Computer Graphics (Grades 7 & 8)
Put your math skills to work while exploring the Logo programming
language. Students build and test programs with 2D and 3D graphics that
they create.
October 16 & 17 in Flossmoor
Alice (Grades 5 & 6)
Prepare for higher-level computer languages in this introduction to
programming that uses drag-and-drop graphic tiles to create a game or
tell a story.
Veterinary Medicine (Grades 7 & 8)
Animal lovers and young scientists explore this exciting field through
x-rays, microscopes, dissection and case studies with a practicing
veterinarian.
October 23 & 24 in Evanston
Cognitive Neuroscience (Grades 5 & 6)
Discover the brain's secrets as you gain an understanding of learning, memory, brain imaging and neural networks.
Statistical Research with NetLogo (Grades 7 & 8)
Developed at Northwestern University's Center for Connected Learning,
NetLogo moves theoretical application to the statistics of daily life.
Using this computer-based model, probability and data become easy to
comprehend.
