Every class in PowerSchool is uniquely identified by its Course Number and Section Number.  You can determine the section number of your class in PowerTeacher as well as PowerTeacher Gradebook.

PowerTeacher

  1. The Section Number can be set to display to the left of the chair icon.  If it is not, here's how to make it appear:
  2. Click the "Personalize" tab on the left of the Start Page in PowerTeacher.
  3. On the Personalize page, click "Display Section Number", then choose "Yes" from the pop-up menu, and click Submit.
  4. Log out of PowerTeacher and log back in.  You should now see the section number.

PowerTeacher Gradebook

There are actually two ways to see the section numbers of your classes in the gradebook:

Method 1:

  1. In the upper left corner, under "Classes" select the class you want to check.
  2. Next, either click the "Class Content" tab or select "View Class Info" from the "View" menu.
  3. The Section Number appears on the Class Info screen.

Method 2:

  1. From the "PowerTeacher Gradebook" menu, select "Preferences...".
  2. Click the "Section" tab.
  3. Under "Choose the identifier used to distinguish sectons in the class list", click the "Section Number" button.
  4. Click OK. The list of classes will now display the section number followed by the course name.
