District 102's Vision
District 102 continues to reach out to parents and staff communicating direction and implementation of major initiatives district staff are engaged in this year. Below is a copy of District 102's VIsion document.
Late BusesIf your child rides the bus and has not arrived home within a reasonable time, please call First Student Bus Company at 847/634-0868. This is a direct line to the dispatcher who will use a two-way radio to call the bus while you are on the line. Calls made to the school offices are delayed as we must put your call on hold, call the bus company, and then relay the information to you.
If you would like to report a bus problem, please call Mrs. Martin in the Business Office at 847/353-5680. If she is not available, leave a message and Mrs. Martin will investigate the problem and return your call as soon as possible. After School Program Emergency Phone Calls (these numbers have changed!) Meridian’s office closes at 3:15 p.m., Aptakisic’s office closes at 3:30 p.m., Pritchett and Tripp offices close at 4:00 p.m., and the District Office closes at 4:30 p.m. Questions and emergency messages regarding children participating in Pritchett, Tripp, or Meridian After School Programs should be directed to the following numbers:

History of 102
1836
The first school in the Township or in Lake County was begun in 1836 with one teacher, Laura B. Sprague. The log schoolhouse was also used for church services and located in Half Day which is now known as Lincolnshire, Illinois. Another town was developing nearby at this time and was called Aptakisic. It was named after the Indian Chief Aptakee. Aptakee in the Indian language means‚ Sun at the meridian/high noon/half day. (Reference: Foundation of Education paper by Florence Dulak, July 17, 1985.)
