On January 20, 24 students in 16 projects competed in the Aptakisic Junior High Science Fair. Ten students in seven projects earned first place
and received an invitation to compete in the Regional Science Fair in March. The winners include Kevin Cheng (Fast Mold Growth on Bread Could be Good?!) with an invitation to compete both in the project and paper sessions; Jonathan Chang (Will Bacteria Grow in Your Juice?) with an invitation to compete in the project session; Sai Duggirala and Niki Patel (Water Disinfection) with an invitation to compete in the project session; Mikaela Friedman (The Heart Never Lies) with an invitation to compete in both the paper and project sessions; Anvesh Jalasutram (Distance and Energy) with an invitation to compete in both the paper and project sessions; Kristina Kirova and Linsey Nowack (The Effect of Multitasking on Female Adolescent Memory) with an invitation to compete in the project session ; and Sarah Litwin and Gabrielle Marzouk (Bateria Growth in Different Temperatures) with an invitation to compete in the project session. The winners at Regionals will be invited to compete at the State Science Fair competition in May.
