Meridian Middle School's fifth grade teacher, Julianne Schreiber, has been organizing "Candy for Our Troops" with her class for the past three years, sending candy to the Marines stationed in Afghanistan.
This year, student council joined the cause and took the fund raiser school-wide, collecting nearly 600 pounds of candy.
