Parent Workshop Speaker Emphasizes Staying Connected with Your Teenager

alt
A huge thank you to the Aptakisic-Tripp School District 102 Parent Network who presented a parent workshop with psychologist, bestselling author, and nationally known parenting expert, Dr. David Walsh on September 28. Many parents attending the event borrowed Dr. Walsh's books which are still available for checkout.

David Walsh, Ph.D. shared an engaging conversation about our kids, their brains, and how we can stay connected with them during this remarkable period of growth. Dr. Walsh shared material from two of his bestselling books, Why Do They Act That Way? A Survival Guide to the Adolescent Brain for You and Your Teen, and No: Why Kids--of All Ages--Need to Hear It and Ways Parents Can Say It.

Books are still available for checkout from the D102 Division of Teaching & Learning. If you would like to borrow either book, please contact Mrs. Jill Campeol at: jcampeol@d102.org or call her at (847) 353-5665.

The next Parent Workshop is scheduled for November 16 and will cover Diversity and 21st Century Learning.
