Interactive whiteboards are extremely hands-on in nature. Early childhood students complete role call by dragging their picture from the "home" column to the "school" column at the beginning of each school day (left photo). In 4th grade, students apply computer skills when completing math problems on an interactive whiteboard (IWB).
In fact, students in all regular classrooms at Pritchett and Tripp Elementary Schools are using IWBs which were configured this past year. Interactive whiteboards may be used for lessons in music, science, math, reading, writing, social studies, as well computer skills. During the past few years, more than 70 interactive whiteboards have been placed in classrooms in all four District 102 schools with additional boards to be installed at Meridian Middle School and Aptakisic Junior High School during the 2011-2012 school year.
