The Illinois Music Educators Association Honors Festival is held each year in November. Hundreds
of band and orchestra students from the northeastern Illinois area
compete to qualify for this annual concert. Students compete for
placement into either the Honor Band or Honor Orchestra.
This year's
band and orchestra qualifiers are as follows: sixth graders Brandon L.
(cello) and Charles H. (cello, first chair); seventh graders Nicole Z.
(violin), Young L. (cello), and Kendra L. (cello); and eighth graders
Marshall H. (tuba), Heena K. (violin), William T. (viola), Jakub B.
(bass), and Sarah Z. (bass, first chair). These musicians will be
performing at Wauconda High School on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at
