District 102 Singing Delights Audience

District 102 students, along with Stevenson's Lady Jazz, delighted and enchanted a packed auditorium with spectacular vocal performances.

Most elementary students join choral for fun, many discover untapped abilities, and some even rise to levels of personal success that takes their passion of singing to new heights.

Both Meridian and Aptaksic students had the wonderful opportunity to see Lady Jazz singers perform providing a taste of high school opportunities.

altMeridian's chorus performed some favorites such as Clouds and Swinging on a Star. The performance included some wonderful humor. Gail Simon is shown instructing students who marched into the wrong scene singing Whistle a Happy Tune from the King & I. Mrs Simon, Meridian Middle School Chorus Director, arranged this piece of music.

Renee Kruper, Junior High Choral Director, is shown conducting Aptakisic's opening number, This Shall Be for Music based on a poem by Robert Louis Stevenson. The lead web photo is a seventh grader who performed Dig a Little Deeper from Princess and the Frog. Another highlight performed by the Aptakisic chorus was Michael Jackson's Heal the World. A huge thank you to District 102's choral directors and students for a wonderful evening, and to SHS for the use of a magnificent facility.
