20 Year Board of Education Veteran Retires from District 102: Smooth Transition for New Leadership

On April 25, the District 102 community honored Jeff Newman who graciously served on our Board of Education for 20 years.  Fellow Board members, former superintendents, teachers, parents and staff

attended to bid him farewell. Previous Superintendents Dr. Doug Parks and Dr. Jon Mink, along with the current superintendent, Dr. Theresa Dunkin expressed their sincere appreciation for Mr. Newman's Financial stewardship and commitment to the community and the education of children. During the second part of the evening, three new Board members, Ellyn Ross, Steve Lefar, and Alan Rubenstein were swore in. The new Board line-up includes Gary Friedlander as President; Ellyn Ross as Vice President; Pelleg Graupe as Secretary; and Joan Koriath, Steve Lefar, Lenny Ostach, and Alan Rubenstein.
